Tom's great new disc of Old Time Blues and Old Time Country Blues is finally out! This new blues CD, the long awaited sequel to "A Blue Thing" is an all acoustic collection of great songs, both original and traditional. Among the featured musicians are slide guitar great Roy Rogers, harmonica virtuoso Norton Buffalo, resonphonic guitar master Bob Brozman, boogie woogie piano queen Caroline Dahl, vocalist and bassist Steve Parks, and acoustic guitar/mandolinist Dix Bruce.

The repertoire includes blues classics like "Drivin' that Thing", "Shake Rattle and Roll", and the Fred MacDowell tune "It's a Blessing", as well as new Rigney originals like "Back Porch Blues" and "Happy Home".

The sound of the disc is warm and acoustic, with Tom's violin singing the blues alongside slide guitars, harmonicas, and acoustic guitars, with a cooking rhythm section on every track. Tom's singing is rich and expressive and adds to the organic sound of this brilliant new CD.

On August 29, 2009, "Back Porch Blues" hit the Number 1 spot on XM/Sirius Radio's Bluesville chart, "B.B. King's Top Bluesville Picks to Click"! After climbing the Top 15 chart for six weeks, the disc reach Number 1 in week seven. The two tracks that generated all the airplay are "Back Porch Blues" and "Rigo's Blues", both original pieces.
